Arriving by sea
We came in by ferry, the town stacked above us in pastel layers. The first climb up the stairs felt endless; the first view from the top made it worth it.
“We didn't plan the afternoon — we let the mood choose.”
Lunch with no clock
A terrace above the beach served spaghetti with lemon and a carafe of white. Nobody brought the bill until we asked. Nobody asked for hours.
The light at the end
By evening the cliffs glowed amber. We didn't plan the afternoon — we just let the mood choose, and it chose well.
